NEWCASTLE have reportedly opened talks over a Premier League return for Eden Hazard.
Defensa Central claims Real Madrid are eager to offload the ex-Chelsea star, 31, following a dismal spell in Spain.
Numerous injuries have limited Hazard to just 65 games in almost three seasons, with the Belgian only scoring six times.
But mega-rich Toon are ready to give Hazard a fresh start back in England’s top flight.
The winger won two Premier League titles, an FA Cup and a League Cup during his time at Stamford Bridge.
And he was also crowned Premier League Player of the Season during the 2014/15 campaign.
Newcastle are looking to boost their profile in the summer market after five wins in their last six matches took them seven points clear of the drop zone.
And English football fans still remember Hazard as being one of the best players to ever light up the league
Real will only be too happy to green-light a deal.
But they do NOT believe Newcastle, or any other suitor, will want to sign Hazard permanently.
However, Real are more than happy to loan Hazard out – as long as the bulk of his £400,000-a-week wages are covered – in order to free up room for Borussia Dortmund’s Erling Haaland
Yet older brother Kylian insists Hazard has no intention of quitting the Bernabeu and wants to see out his lucrative contract.
He told Het Laatste Nieuws: “Eden has already made his career. He is fine where he is.
“His family feels good there, he has a contract until 2024 and I think he will wait until then.”
