Chelsea news and transfers LIVE: Roman Abramovich snub, Lionel Messi talks about Chelsea, Azpilicueta decision

Roman Abramovich’s £41m dream shattered as wonderkid makes Chelsea summer transfer decision

Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has once again been shown his £41million transfer regret as Barcelona’s Gavi steps up once again on the European stage for the Catalan giants.

Gavi, 17, was linked to making a surprise and shock move to west London in the early parts of the summer when Barcelona were in financial difficulty.

However, Barca’s agreement to sell certain big stars like the one and only Lionel Messi had allowed the club some wiggle room regarding their stance on their youngster despite Abramovich’s ploy to try and pounce on the uncertainty.

As per Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona have never been worried about the Russian billionaire’s interest in a player who stepped up for the La Liga outfit as they restored parity in their UEFA Europa league Round of 16 tie against Napoli heading into the away Italian leg in a few weeks time.

Chelsea ‘love’ Jules Kounde

The 23-year-old is playing the ‘last leg of his career at Sevilla’ and will leave them as their record sale in the summer. That’s according to Fichajes.net, who say the former Bordeaux man wants to join a top club that fights for the Champions League.

Chelsea, the reigning European champions, ‘aspire’ to win everything and they therefore fit the player’s requirements.

It’s claimed Thomas Tuchel’s side ‘love him’ and after having ‘already made an offer’ for Koundé in 2021, the Blues ‘will do it again in a few months’. In other words, the Premier League side will make another proposal in the next window.

Lionel Messi has told Chelsea, Man City, Man United and Liverpool how to win Champions League

Paris Saint-Germain star and three times Champions League winner Lionel Messi has told Chelsea, Man City, Man United and Liverpool that ‘togetherness’ and ‘team unity’ are key to winning this season’s competition.

Messi, 34, was fortunate enough to be bailed out by Kylian Mbappe right at the death at the Le Parc des Princes against Real Madrid on Tuesday night as the French giants stole the first leg lead ahead of the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Prior to Mbappe’s stunning winner that has reportedly prompted the higher ups in the French capital to consider offering him £1million-a-week, their free signing in the summer had spurned up a chance that could have costed them the well deserved advantage earned in the end.

In the 62nd minute, the six time Ballon d’Or winner telegraphed his penalty with a low left footed strike that was guessed easily by former Blues goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.

Cesar Azpilicueta update

Savenet.one has already provided the latest on Azpilicueta in our piece that is located in the blog post directly above this one and Fabrizio Romano has confirmed what we already know.

Cesar Azpilicueta sends four-word message to Chelsea after latest snub ahead of Crystal Palace

Chelsea’s captain Cesar Azpilicueta has claimed that the club ‘doesn’t like’ him after what they did after the FIFA Club World Cup ahead of Crystal Palace this weekend.

Azpilicueta, 32, is the first ever player in the club’s history who can claim that they won it all after the Blues defeated Palmeiras 2-1 after extra-time courtesy of Kai Havertz and brilliant mind games from the defender in question leading up to the goal.

Prior to the Club World Cup, all the talk on the Spaniard revolved around his future with a key Barcelona decision looming as the end of his Blues deal approaches.

“I’m not going to speak about my future,” he said ahead of Al Hilal.

Mason Mount contract

Chelsea are set to discuss a new contract with midfielder Mason Mount, according to Fabrizio Romano.

The 23-year-old has impressed since breaking into the first-team and his current deal expires in 2024.

Speaking to PSG magazine this week, Messi said via the Mirror: “It is difficult to win the Champions League, because it is a competition that brings together the best teams and where the smallest detail, the smallest mistake can eliminate you.
