Martin Keown has heaped praise on Armando Broja for his performance in Southampton’s 1-1 draw with Man United, with reports that Chelsea could bring him back to the club
The Albanian is currently in the midst of a loan spell with Southampton and has impressed during his debut season in the English top-flight, where he has has eight goalss in all competitions for the Saints this season.
It follows on from the form in which he netted on 11 occasions for Eredivisie outfit Vitesse Arnhem, an impressive record which prompted Southampton to make a move for the player for this season
The 20-year-old will be keen to continue those sorts of displays throughout the remainder of the season as he eyes a return to Stamford Bridge in the summer, and with Chelsea looking to sort out their striker issues, Thomas Tuchel may give him a chance
And after seeing Broja put in another impressive performances against Manchester United at the weekend, Keown has opened up and told Chelsea why they should make a move for Broja.
Keown purred to BT Sport: “You have to applaud him, the pace he has. He’s really impressed for Southampton.
“He’s a physical specimen as well, the ball has been going into him, and Maguire hasn’t been able to win them. He’s got everything to his game.
“His pace there, look at how he wins it – he bullies Maguire there. So quick, direct. Players around him. This man is so difficult to play against.”
Broja is definitely a player that could help that Chelsea attack. the way he plays, his physical presence and his ability to score, just what Tuchel needs
So we are fully expecting him to be given a chance in that Chelsea squad next season.
