Chelsea news and transfers LIVE: Theo Hernandez ‘agreement’, Ziyech retires, Erling Haaland blow

Christian Pulisic gives Marina Granovskaia more reasons for potential Chelsea summer exit

The questions around the summer transfer window revolve around who Chelsea will let go of to bring in fresh legs.

Rumours have been circulating around that we could see a possible departure of Timo Werner, Hakim Ziyech, Romelu Lukaku, and more. It’s a difficult decision to make. However, it is clear that the attackers are the least happy in the squad.

Whilst it’s clear that Chelsea needs fresh new ideas, how do we determine the attacker who needs to make way? It most likely will not be Marina Granovskaia’s £97m investment, Romelu Lukaku. So who do we look at next? Stats reveal some interesting findings.

We’ve often seen our defenders bail the Blues out of tricky situations — the most recent being in Chelsea’s FA Cup fourth-round clash against Plymouth. Cesar Azpilicueta and Marcos Alonso were tasked to help the team move forward into the next round.

Ziyech makes retirement decision

Hakim Ziyech has announced that he is withdrawing from international contention after being left out of Morocco’s squad for the Africa Cup of Nations.

Speaking to local media in Abu Dhabi, he said: “Obviously I understand them but I will not return to the national team.

“It’s my final decision and it’s all clear for me how things are going over there. You know it’s all clear for me and I am focusing on what I am doing and that’s right now my club.”

PSG consider Haaland bid

Chelsea could be facing a major blow in their hopes of signing Borussia Dortmund forward Erling Haaland.

According to L’Equipe, French giants Paris-Saint Germain will attempt to secure his services should they fail to keep Kylian Mbappe at the Parc des Princes beyond the summer.

Theo Hernandez agrees new AC Milan contract

Chelsea’s hopes of signing Theo Hernandez appear to have all but evaporated with the Frenchman having now agreed a new contract to stay at AC Milan.

That is according to Fabrizio Romano, who states that an announcement could be forthcoming over the next few days.
