Chelsea news and transfers recap: Juventus announcement, goalkeeper departs, Haaland concern

Tuchel makes £29.3m decision

Thomas Tuchel has reportedly made the decision to sell both Ruben Loftus-Cheek and Ross Barkley in the summer as he prepares to welcome Conor Gallagher back to Stamford Bridge.

The young midfielder has impressed on-loan at Crystal Palace next season and the Blues are reportedly now willing to sell both Barkley and Loftus-Cheek to make space for him ahead of next season.

De Ligt boost

Chelsea have been handed a big boost in their attempts to sign Matthijs de Ligt, with Juventus having made a deadline day move for Federico Gati from Serie B side.

He is set to remain with the second-tier Italian outfit on-loan until the summer – when De Ligt’s sale could potentially be faciliated.

Dembele back in training

Ousmane Dembele’s failure to earn a move on deadline day does not appear to have hampered his spirit, with the Frenchman still in the action at Barcelona.

He was pictured hard at work during training, with club president Joan Laporta having made an intriguing admission over his future.

Tuchel makes transfer decision

Thomas Tuchel was reportedly not pushing for new transfer arrivals, with Chelsea having not made a single senior addition throughout the January transfer window.

According to The Athletic, the German decided to prioritise the Blues’ upcoming summer recruitment as opposed to making signings in the January window.

Goalkeeper departs

Another deal that you may have missed from yesterday as young stopper Ethan Wady signed for non-league side Hendon FC.

He departs on a deal until the end of the campaign having been with Dartford last term

Chelsea receive Mbappe boost

Chelsea have received a considerable boost in their efforts to sign Haaland, with Real Madrid having made a major decision.

According to ESPN, the Spanish giants have decided to sign Kylian Mbappe on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain, thus effectively ending their interest in Haaland.

However, it appears that there is a major reservation over his arrival with Chelsea reportedly concerned over how he would adapt to the Premier League.

Chelsea eye Liverpool target Carvalho

After seeing their move for previous Chelsea target Fabio Carvalho fall flat on deadline day, Liverpool could see plenty of competition come to the fore.

According to Goal, the Blues are still interested, whilst Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich could also both consider a move.

Barca drop Dembele hint

Barcelona president Joan Laporta has suggested that Ousmane Dembele has already ‘agreed’ a deal with a new club despite seeing a deadline day move falter.

Talking in a press conference, he said: “We think that Dembele already has a contract with another club, they have insinuated that to us.”
