Here are all your latest Savenet.one Chelsea morning headlines on Tuesday, January 11.
Chalobah injury latest
Trevor Chalobah will “easily” be out of action for Chelsea for “two or three weeks” while he recovers from a repeat hamstring injury that he aggravated further against Jurgen Klopp’s side.
That is the view of injury expert Ben Dinnery, who runs the Premier Injuries site and has a background in medicine and data analysis.
Dinnery has predicted that the rising star may not play again until “after the winter break” as a result of what happened to him in the Liverpool draw.
He said: “It’s two or three weeks, easily.
“It was early December when he had that initial setback and it’s happened again.
“We know all bout the increased risk of re-injury during that 28-day period, and that his fallen within that.
“Tuchel would certainly have been wary about deploying Chalobah but the situation means you do have to do things you wouldn’t normally.
“It’s one that needs to be assessed. But if we’re looking at the same hamstring issue, it will certainly put him out until after the winter break.“
Chelsea ‘considering’ Sergino Dest transfer swoop
The American full-back is being viewed as a versatile full-back who could provide perfect back-up to Reece James who is likely to be sidelined until February.
On the other side, the Blues are in talks to end Emerson Palmieri’s loan spell as they are looking for answers closer to home in the left-wing position to compete with Marcos Alonso for the rest of the season with Ben Chilwell recovering from surgery.
And now, the Blues’ interest in the Barcelona man has been confirmed by Barca Sports journalist Shay Lugassi who has provided the latest on Dest to Chelsea.
His tweet update read: “Dest: Chelsea are really considering trying to sign him in January even though the player does not *currently* want to leave Barça. He wants to be an important player on the team.
“But, Emerson also did not want to leave Barça and after a day came for medical tests at Spurs.”
Alternatively, the European Champions again could look closer to home, with Dujon Sterling a viable option to fill in for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign.
Rudiger makes PSG and Real Madrid decision
Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger has made it known that he would prefer to move to Real Madrid over Paris Saint-Germain despite a reported £6million offer from Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Rudiger, 28, has had his biggest resurgence under Thomas Tuchel, making him a mainstay in the first team and a vital player alongside Thiago Silva in that backline that helps glue everything together defensively.
Savenet.one understands that the £140,000 a week offer is still somewhat up to £60,000 short of the £200,000 that the ex-Roma man is looking for, as he assesses everything on the table before making a final decision.
According to French outlet Foot Mercato, Leonardo and the rest of the Paris Saint-Germain board have made an official offer to the German’s representatives regarding a £6m move to the French capital.
In spite of all the good things Rudiger has said on Pochettino’s side in the past, his heart is only in two places at this current moment- London and Madrid.
This is because, as Spanish outlet AS have noted down, the man who first made his name at Stuttgart has dreams of only donning the white shirt of Real Madrid which just shows the task that Leonardo and co. have to change his mind.
