Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappe seems destined to join Real Madrid after five years in the French capital.
Mbappe has often flirted with the idea of a move to the Bernabeu and the Spanish giants even failed with a £171million bid for his services back in August.
However, the Frenchman’s contract with Mauricio Pochettino’s side is due to expire at the end of the current campaign, meaning his dream move to Madrid looks to be on the horizon this summer.
Still, Los Blancos will likely need to offload some players in order to afford the 23-year-old’s huge wage demands, alerting a number of clubs across Europe, including the likes of Arsenal, Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur.
Here, savenet.one has compiled a list of three players that Real Madrid may look to sell this summer in order to finance a deal to bring Mbappe to the club.
Considering Mbappe typically operates on the right flank, Madrid winger Rodrygo would find himself even lower down Carlo Ancelotti’s pecking order, which could result in a transfer away from Spain’s capital.
The Brazilian has only started six La Liga games as it is, meaning he may be keen to look for more guaranteed game time this summer if the PSG star does join the club.
Rodrygo is exceptionally quick and is accomplished at taking defenders on, although he does need to work on his end product, but at 21 years old he still has plenty of room to develop as a player.
He could be the perfect right-winger for Antonio Conte’s Tottenham Hotspur given he works hard, excels in transitions and presses from the front when needed.
In fact, the youngster has registered a whopping 18 pressures per match in La Liga this season, considerably more than Lucas Moura, Son Heung-Min or Harry Kane have managed this term.
Eden Hazard left Chelsea for Real in the summer of 2019 for a whopping £103.5million after seven trophy-laden years at Stamford Bridge.
However, the Belgian international has struggled since joining Los Blancos, spending a considerable amount of time on the treatment table.
In total, Hazard has netted just five times across 59 games for Madrid and this summer may be the perfect time for the veteran winger to return to west London, with a number of reports linking him to Thomas Tuchel’s side in recent times.
The 31-year-old would add some much-needed experience to the Blues’ frontline, as none were at the club when Chelsea last won the Premier League back in 2017.
Another Madrid forward that could depart the Bernabeu if Mbappe joins is frontman Luka Jovic.
Jovic signed from Bundesliga outfit Frankfurt in the same summer that Hazard did, joining for a reported £50million after an extremely productive 2018/19 campaign in Germany when he provided 27 goals and seven assists across all competitions.
However, the Serbian international has found game time hard to come by with the 13-time European champions, featuring just ten times in the league this season – all of which coming from the substitutes bench.
Still, at just 24 years old, he has plenty left in the tank and perhaps Arsenal could take a gamble to bring him to the Emirates Stadium considering their need for a well-rounded centre-forward.
Gunners frontmen Alexandre Lacazette and Eddie Nketiah are into the final six months of their respective contracts in north London, potentially opening the door for a move for Jovic this summer.
