BREAKING: Reece James taken off against Brighton to add to Chelsea injury woes pre-Liverpool

Chelsea right-back Reece James was forced off in the first half of the Brighton Premier League fixture to add to Thomas Tuchel’s injury woes.

James, 22, suffered what looked like a hamstring injury after a collision with Yves Bissouma as the Blues looked to gain the advantage in an end to end encounter in the first half.

However, his efforts have resulted in yet another injury for Tuchel to contend with and with Liverpool next on the agenda this Sunday, one of the Blues’ best players now looks a major doubt for the clash at Stamford Bridge.

James’ injury now adds him to the injury list that consists of N’Golo Kante and Thiago Silva, who both picked up knocks in the 3-1 Aston Villa win on Boxing Day.

No doubt, Tuchel will explain more post-match on the extent of the injury suffered to Chelsea’s No. 24.

A few minutes after the 22-year-old was forced off, Romelu Lukaku made it 1-0 to the European Champions with a powerful header that evaded Robert Sanchez in the visitors’ goal.

Worryingly enough, Andreas Christensen picked up a knock before the James incident occurred but was able to continue, despite Trevoh Chalobah looking poised to come on to replace the Danish international.
