Chelsea determined to sign €90m-rated La Liga midfielder

The London giants have presented their demands to Barcelona, who are looking to secure the signing of Christian Pulisic from the PL club. USA international signed for the Blues from Borussia Dortmund in 2019. Pulisic has shown plenty of glimpses of his unbridled potential during his time at Chelsea.

But he has been unable to nail down a starting berth, be it under Frank Lampard or current coach Thomas Tuchel, who worked with him at Signal Iduna Park. Injuries have not helped Christian, who, to date, has played 83 games for the Blues, scoring 19 goals and setting up 14 more.

The ongoing season has been a frustrating one for the American winger, as he has featured only six times, missing several games due to fitness issues, which has seen others go past him in the pecking order.

With the Blaugrana in no position to pay such kind of money, the Blues would be open to alternative arrangements, which would see midfielder Frenkie de Jong move to Chelsea while the 23-year-old attacker goes the other way.

The Netherlands international has been with the Blaugrana for over two years but hasn’t been able to showcase his best form yet. Whether they are willing to trade him for Christian, however, stays to be seen. An intriguing few weeks lie ahead for the duo.

With Ronald Koeman gone and the development of several young midfield options at Camp Nou, club president Laporta has been mulling over the possibility of selling the Dutchman in order to generate funds to reinvest in the club.
